Coat Season 2025
While watching the CPHFW AW25 street style looks, I couldn't help but notice that a lot of the fashions are centered around coats. Quelle surprise!
We've seen the trend of barn jackets, the relaxed trench, the puffer, the (faux) fur, the structured wool long-line coats. But what CPHFW streetstyle told me, is that fur coats are in- BIG TIME!
Bonus if it's cropped and printed.
As someone who snowbirds, I haven't had the need for a coat for at least 2 winters now. I have one for the rare occasion but it's nothing fancy, so I popped into Zara to look for some options for date night and settled on this faux leather and shearling coat in my favorite color at the moment, and a chic alternative to black.
Snowbird:
A person who moves from colder regions to warmer, southern climates in the winter.
I felt like this coat would be easy to dress up and down for the next couple weeks that we are in the Vegas area, fitting the bill for the "cool-girl" winter vibe I have in my mind.
While we are here, my husband and I will be celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary; so date night is imperative. I opted for a chic satin monochrome look, with black boots and threw the coat over my shoulders while at dinner.
Simple silhouettes and distinctive textures make this look specific to me. I love clean, but detailed looks. I enjoy an outfit that seems effortless on the surface but the devil in the details uncover the thought that went into putting it all together.
Deep in a space of curating things in my closet that makes me feel. Nomad life took the joys out of dressing for me, but I'm putting my foot down and saying "Not anymore!"
As someone who doesn't spend much time in colder climates, investing in a coat isn't realistic for me right now. I find Zara to be a reliable option for those “I need but I don't wanna spend more than I should” moments. In the same breath, as someone who is aware of the enviromental challenges that fast fashion creates, I'm trying to navigate those waters consciously and responsibly.
