CPHFW SS27 Street Style

Another year, another Copenhagen Fashion Week I did not attend. Am I punching the air? Yes. But at least I have the street style looks to relieve that longing.

While we're on the topic, I just want to shout out the street style photogs that show up season after season and the photographers who show up to make a name for themselves in the industry.

I said this years ago, and the sentiment still stands... CPHFW has hands down become one of fashion's most anticipated fashion events to attend. People are raving about the accessibility, the creativity, the number of events and pop-ups available to the public– aside from runway shows. The community first mentality, sustainability and ethical production in the industry and of course; the street style.

It's colorful, it's quirky, it's minimal silhouettes meets maximalist prints. It's bold, it's vibrant and it's fun. And while some may side-eye the performative aspect of the street style in Copenhagen, during fashion week– I say... name a better time to serve a "performative" look?

The shows are set in places that breathe the city’s architecture and culture— you can feel it in the visual story of the shows. Some brands will grab you harder than others, but the city itself gets under your skin, stirring something in you and sparking creativity the way only a new place can. I guess what I’m trying to say is, even though I wasn’t there in the flesh, my spirit was moved, in all the good ways.

Street style looks that made me want to sift through my closet and get dressed again.

My round up of CPHFW street style: tomato red, butter yellow leather, cobalt blue and teal ruled the streets, as well as camo and colored lens shades. Thong flip flops are still going strong, and when color takes a back seat, structure and shape step forward.

But my absolute favorite was the celebration of pregnancy. In a predominantly female industry, watching motherhood get this kind of visibility and celebration hit different. It’s beautiful, and it’s about time.

So no, I wasn’t there. But I’ll be running off the creative energy boost CPHFW has given me— fueling wishlists, outfit ideas, and everything in between.
