Munich: A Visual Diary

Earlier this year, my husband and I jumped at the opportunity to spend some time together without our little one. He had a work engagement, I didn’t have any commitments that weekend, it was perfect timing. To be fair, we had also just spent the whole month of January traveling as a family and we were just overdue for some alone time and a night out.

Like most parents who finally get baby-free time, we were ambitious with our plans. In reality, all we did was sleep in and eat wherever we wanted to. We spent most of the day jumping in and out of museums, bookstores and palaces without the worry of time or the weather. When we felt like having dinner, we got to freely indulge in drinks without having to think about getting a certain someone back to the hotel in time to do their bedtime routine.

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves on this trip. If you ever find yourself in Munich, Makula restaurant, if you’re up for a taste of West African fusion food. Restaurant Savanna for Southern African cuisine. Personally, we went for the Windhoek Lager and biltong!
Marienplatz is the standard must-see locale, it's the central square. Climb the bell tower in the St. Peter's Church for panoramic views.
MaximilianStrasse is every style girl and fashion lover's dream come true.
Isaar Park for the impressive graffiti wall art.
And lastly, The Munich Residence in the middle of downtown is an absolute playground for travel bloggers and history enthusiasts alike.

Although we were in Munich in February, the best time to visit is either in the spring (March-May) or in the fall (September-October). Summer and Winter are usually the most crowded and have the more extreme of weather conditions. Happy traveling guys!
